Short&Sweet is a movement started by Julia Stephenson in London in 2006. Short&Sweet, London’s only weekly short film evening 2006-2011 – every Monday night a different selection of short films, music videos and short animations from around the globe screened to packed audiences. It was FREE to attend!

2007​ The Getty Images and Short&Sweet Film Challenge – see the winning film here: Photograph of Jesus by Laurie Hill

2009​ Short&Sweet invited to curate the short film tent at C02penhagen festival, the first carbon neutral festival in the world.

2010​ Short&Sweet 3D, the first 3D stereoscopic short film festival in the UK held at the Barbican and sponsored by Courvoisier.

2011 ​Short&Sweet launches in South Africa, Cape Town ​Watch S&S Cape Town’s launch night​ and ​A taste of South Africa’s Short&Sweet movement 2011 ​and Toronto.

2012​ S&S tours South Africa: Johannesburg, Grahamstown, Stellenbosch ​Short&Sweet Moments Captured

2013​ Short&Sweet AMSTERDAM begins….​Amsterdam Season 1 AfterMovie

2013​ Short&Sweet SA hosts the first short film drive-in series

2014​ Short&Swe​et Music Video Awards ​#​1 – the first music video awards festival in South Africa to give credit to the talent behind the lens. The winning best new director was signed to Caviar Content in London for 1 year. ​Watch the MVA #1 aftermovie

2014​ S&S Amsterdam Season 2 2014​ Short&Sweet Vic Falls Season 1 launches (Zimbabwe)

2014​ Short&Sweet Cape Town hosts the only weekly short film silent rooftop experience (a wireless experience)

2015 ​S&S Barcelona Season 1 launched ​Watch S&S Barcelona Aftermovie

2015 ​SA TEEN FILM FEST – the first National Inter Schools Short Film Competition open to all High School Students.

2016 ​The birth of our sister company www.pop-upcinema.com
